Chamber Plans Action for Business 

A healthy business community is a cornerstone of a healthy community. For over fifty years, the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce has been the voice of the Elk Grove area business community. 

The 2007 Elk Grove Chamber Action Plan sets out goals and objectives to be carried out by Chamber volunteers and staff in 2007.

Chamber Mission
To develop, promote and advance our key constituency, the Elk Grove area business community.

Serving our Members
Through its Membership Development Department the Chamber works to recruit, retain and engage members through value-added activities.  

Membership: To develop and implement approved chamber programs that will result in chamber membership growth and retention

Member Recruitment - Develop and implement approved programs that will provide chamber membership growth commensurate with business growth in service area

Member Retention - Identify, develop and facilitate approved chamber programs that will result in membership retention and provide value to Chamber members 

Member Services - Develop and implement programs to get and keep members involved in Chamber activities, create value for members and to enhance the Chamber

Ambassadors: Provide outreach and services to chamber members, provide outreach to new businesses and prospective members in support of the Chamber to help new members and prospective members feel welcome and supported by the local business community.

After Hours Business Mixers:  Facilitate After Hours Business Mixers hosted by Chamber members  that provide networking opportunities and to acquaint the local business community and public with chamber members, members’ services and Chamber services

Members Meetings:  Conduct Membership meetings that provide forum for members’ meetings and relevant program income generation.

Promoting Your Business
Through the Business Promotion Department, the Chamber works to provide opportunities for our members to showcase their products, services and community support.

Experience Elk Grove: To showcase the quality of life in Elk Grove by providing a forum for business displays, presentation of information on doing business in the area and creation of new jobs Produce event to develop, promote and enhance the Elk Grove area business community.

Salute to Red, White & Blue: To provide a patriotic event for the community of Elk Grove to celebrate the 4th of July for the purpose of bringing the community together and revenue generation

Business Expo: To provide a forum for promotion of Elk Grove businesses to businesses in a non-traditional setting in order to expand exposure of the participating businesses and Chamber revenue.

Shop Elk Grove: Provide opportunities for our members to showcase their products, services and community support

Improving our Local Economy
Through the Economic Growth Department, the Chamber develops and implements quality programs and services to attract and enhance business in the Elk Grove area. In 2007, the Department will facilitate the following goals:

Legislative Action and Government Affairs: To ensure that decisions made by government agencies are in the best interests of the commercial, industrial, agricultural, civic and residential interests of the Elk Grove community

Industrial Roundtable: To maintain a coalition of local business leaders to identify, communicate and recommend opportunities for improvement within the Elk Grove industrial community

Business Development: Develop and implement approved chamber programs to create and maintain a healthy and balanced business environment in the chamber service area

Business Recruitment: Identify and implement approved chamber programs that will attract complimentary specific business firms and jobs to the service area that enhance the area economy. Retention: Identify, recommend and implement approved chamber programs to enhance the economic health of area businesses

Economic Development Forum: Facilitate monthly forum for discussion of economic development issues and progress; provide input to Recruitment and Retention subcommittees

Education: Provide quality educational opportunities to meet the needs of business members and share information between the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and educational institutions, which will support both the business and education interests of the community.

Telling Our Story
Through the Marketing Department, the Chamber will provide effective communication to the members and community.

Improving the Chamber
Under the Internal Operations Department, the Chamber will undertake a comprehensive review of Chamber bylaws and recommend changes for adoption by the membership.
