California business owners and operators consistently cite state level legislation and regulations as a primary barrier to their success and sustainability. Ordinarily, local chambers of commerce don’t have the resources to engage at the state level to represent and advance their members’ interests – leaving lobbying activities to special interests and statewide associations. In 2017, the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce joined four other local chambers in the Sacramento region – the El Dorado County Joint Chamber Commission and the Folsom, Rancho Cordova
and Roseville Area Chambers of Commerce – to form the United Chamber Advocacy Network,
also known as UCAN – where “you can” make a difference for business in California.
